O friend! The Course of Ishq has no end,

You should become true friend and draw your hand away of matters [of Nafs],

You should cause yourself Fanaa in the cause¹ of the Beloved,

Of what use Dram (or drachma) of Dunya (World) and wealth are to you?

If you will not remain poor on His [Course] of Tareeqat,

You will never behold His [Bright] Countenance in this world,

?In addition, when [and how] will you see His Jamaal in the universe?

You should immolate your life near the hair of that beloved (),

Why do you regret for the coins of money!

What you ought to do is this that you should [particularly] hand over your life to the [Real] Beloved!
