181-182
It
is so much preoccupied and engaged into his carnal and worldly business that he
is left with no spare time to think about matter relating to religion and faith.
In the Inward, the likeness of such Nafs
is the dead bird and Allah
Almighty, at
times, shows him the similitude of Nafs
in the Inwardly
world for alarm and
manifest. 'There is not an animal in the earth, nor a flying creature flying on
two wings, but they are peoples like unto you (6:38)'. That person,
whose Nafs
is Ammara, he is shown the ailment of his Nafs
in form of some
cattle in a bad dream. Such person sees his Nafs
in the appearance of a boar,
dog, wolf, jackal etcetera or like snake, mouse, scorpion or louse or flea
etcetera or vulture, kite, crow etcetera and see his Station
like a lavatory,
pub, gambling-house and sees his food in the form of garbage, faeces etcetera.
In short, all these are the esoteric parables of Nafs
which change from one
occasion to the next and are identified in every form and character and trait.
Thus, the form of boar implicates on eating Haraam
and being as a pimp and the
figure of dog means lust and greed and love with Dunya
(World). Face of snake
implies brining harm on others and inflicting upon people and seeing a monkey
means the disease of criticism and so on. The time when the blessed Saalik
abides by Shariyat
and does the Tazkiya
of Nafs
through Zikr
Fikr
and Riyazat
,
his Nafs
improves and becomes Lawwama from Ammara. Then its exemplary
appearance becomes like Halaal
animals for example camel, goat etcetera or fish
and other Halaal
animals and he sees his Station
a better place. In third
Station, the Nafs-e-Mulhimma
comes out of the Destination of animals and sets
step into the Station
of humanity and humankind.
*
But
as long as it does not become Kaamil
at this destination and has not got rid of
total faults and slips and the ailments of Baheemi, sees his Nafs
as imperfect,
ill, disable, ugly, poor, silly etcetera Imperfect
Human. In the fourth stage,
when the Nafs
has become Mutmainna, the Saalik
sees his Nafs
like a handsome,
healthy, rich and well off, judge or ruler or in the appearance of some saintly
good person and sees court, Masjid, Khanqah, the Sacred House of Allah, Holy Makkah,
Holy Madinah etcetera. Further, Be enlightened that it is not compulsory that
the Nafs-e-Ammara
always sees pigs, dogs and donkeys etcetera in dreams or the
Nafs
e Mutmainna always sees good things in dream but our real emphasis here
that if it is desired to show a person his model figure in dream or Muraqiba
,
he sees his Nafs
in real model figures in special conditions otherwise those
who are common and ignorant people and are heedless about Allah
Almighty, they
neither are careful about their Inwardly
ailments nor are they able to see
these and often these model figures are observed in some mirror and specially
are shown when a person is trying to reform them and is busy in Tazkiya. For
example, if a person started his efforts for the Tazkiya
of his Nafs-e-Ammara
through Assalaat
(Prayers), Nawafil
(Optional Prayers) then he would probably
see his Nafs
in such a way he entered a Masjid and there is standing a dog or
donkey. Or that, he is offering Assalaat
(Prayers) but the place is Impure
(unholy) and premises is filthy. Or that if someone wants to clean his Nafs
through the Recitation
of the Holy Quran, he would see his Nafs
in a model
appearance in that place where the Holy Quran is being recited. Or that, if
someone has chosen some Murshid
as teacher, then he would see the
representative figure of his Nafs
in Hazoori
of his Murshid
then it is as if
the said person has observed the model figure of his Nafs
in different mirrors
of Assalaat, Quran and Murshid
and so on. The Latifa
(Subtlety) of Qalb
is the
higher and more sublime than the Latifa
e Nafs
.
