Thus, arrogance and ego are such a successful tool of Satan that one cannot remain safe against it except through the Waseela of Murshid and this medicine of Waseela proves the biggest antidote and the greatest elixir against this fatal disease. However, keep this in mind that everything remains honorable and beneficial when kept within balance and the excessiveness or shortage is not suitable in any way. Courtesy and abjectness is, though, a good thing but it should also have a limit. It is not desired that the respect and honor given to the Prophet is more than God and a Wali is exalted higher to a Prophet. Respect for parents and teacher has its limit. Murshid and Wali has his own degree and his respect and honor is due according to his Station and Martaba. Also, though, the Martaba of the Prophet and Messenger is superior to all creation of God but it should not be considered higher to the Martaba of God and that reverence and respect, that is, the Prostration, which is allowed only for the Pure (holy) Essence of Allah Almighty in order to show one's Abudiyat , it should not be shared with any mortal being in any way.

 

It will be atheism if you will not give due regard to the Maratib !

And the undue and unwarranted courtesy and unwanted humbleness, at every place, displayed as a usual practice, makes a person undignified in his eyes as well in the eyes of others and it also ruins the useful urge of confidence and self-reliance and makes a person cowardly and nerveless.

 

Courtesy, no doubt, is a deed of goodness and has great bounties,

But it should not be beyond a limit as it ruins the dignity of the person.

Hence, humility and courtesy is of two kinds: One is Mahmood (laudable) and the other is Mazmoom (despicable). Courtesy and respect given to some irreligious worldly person, rich or cruel person, a Faasiq (Miscreant), Faajir (sinner) Ruler for one's worldly temptation and inviting profit for him, is illegitimate and unjust but rather it is totally Haraam.

His two third portion of the Faith is lost who gave respect and courtesy to some worldly person for the sake of just Dunya (World).

How great threat this is! The great Saints used to be very cautious in this regard and considered it very grave sin giving respect and courtesy to some worldly person but moreover they dealt with the worldly persons and the rich and wealthy persons with severe disregard and heedlessness. Hence, it has come 'being arrogant with the arrogant is worship'Book and in order to win gladness (and accreditation) and happiness of Allah, showing courtesy and humbleness towards parents or elders or relatives or teachers or some Saint of the religion or some noble person like Sayyed or Qureshi or son of a Saint or the Pir and Murshid is a Mahmood (laudable) and blessed way and one's disrespect and dishonor shown towards some poor and pauper slave of Allah Almighty for his poverty and paucity demote that person in the eyes of Allah Almighty and Allah Almighty brings violence and anger upon him. Many examples of this are present in the Noble Quran and Ahadees and the books of the old great Saints of Faith are also filled like such incidents. It is Station of Warning-lesson (with example) that, verily, The Holy Prophet of AllahBook Hazrat MuhammadBook Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamBook is the Beloved Friend of Allah Almighty but at two stations, Allah Almighty showed His disapproval for hisBook treatment and these incidents have been narrated in the Holy Quran. In one incident, the Holy Prophet of AllahBook Hazrat MuhammadBook Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamBook was one day advising the explanations of Islam to some elite and rich class of Quresh Clan that a blind Companion Abdullah Ibne Maktoom Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala AnhuBook came in that place and since he had no eyesight, he assumed as if the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamBook was alone and he interfered in hisBook blessed discussion and started asking himBook something that he wanted to ask. Thus, the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamBook took this interference inappropriate and turned hisBook blessed face aside giving no answer to hisBook question. Hazrat Abdullah Ibne Maktoom Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala AnhuBook left the gathering hopeless and heartsick. On account of this incident, Hazrat Jibraaeel (Gabriel) Alaihis-SalaamBook came with these verses from the Court of The Highness the Supreme.

 

His highnessBook frowned and turned away. Because the blind man came unto himBook. What could inform youBook but that he might grow (in grace). Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? As for him who thinks himself independent, unto him youBook paid regard. Yet it is not yourBook concern if he grows not (in grace). But as for him who comes unto youBook with earnest purpose. And has fear, from him youBook are distracted. Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment (80:1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11)
