When
these verses were revealed upon him
, his
blessed color turned pale and he
at once left that place
and went behind Hazrat
Abdullah Ibne Maktoom Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala
Anhu
and held his hand with love and affection and brought him back to the Masjid of
the Holy Prophet
and
spread his
blessed
mantle and sit him with respect and honor and attended him with great affection
and tenderness and sympathy. he
used to give him respect and made him two
times the Vice Caliph of Madinah in his
absence when he had to undertake a journey.
He says that when Hazrat
Jibraaeel (Gabriel) Alaihis-Salaam
had revealed upon him the above verses, the awe of Allah's Glory overtook his
blessed heart and his heart remained trembling in fear until the time the verse
'Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment (80:11)'
was heard by him and his
heart took comfort thence. And the meanings of this verse are 'this Quran is
universal advice for everyone without any restriction or discrimination about
anyone'.
Another
incident is also remembered in the Holy Quran and this is that a good number of
some poor and destitute Holy Companions Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala
Anhum
which
are known as 'Ashaab e Suffa' was with the Holy Prophet of Allah
Hazrat
Muhammad
Sal
Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
. These people had left
their homes and homelands and learnt the Orders of Lord and had gathered in the
place of the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
for (Advanced level) Learning the course of Salook. Since there was no house
for their living and residing, they, therefore had prepared a vast and flat
high place made and filled with mud (Suffa) for their accommodation.
*
Since
such high flat place like this is called Suffa in Arabic, these Companions of
the Prophet were known as Suffa Companions (Ashaab e Suffa). Some Saints
believe that the word
'Sufi' is derived from this Arabic Word
'Suffa'. In short
these People had completely forsaken the world and had only the Tawakul
over
Allah. They possessed nothing in the worldly stuff. Hardly a piece of cloth or
jute garment in order to hide the body up to the extent that should be kept
covered for reverence of women and they lived on the 'Quwwat e La Yamutu'
(undying force). Their all the day food was the Remembrance of Lord
, Seeing the blessed face
of Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
and his
Companionship
and Tawajuh. When he used to visit them, these people gathered around his
Candle of Beauty like
moths. It has been a norm that the worldly rich and well off persons always
feel hatred against the Faqeers
and destitute persons and they mind it in
sitting with them and feel their insult in meeting them. Hence, the times when
the elites of society and lords of locality visited him
and saw him sitting in Dervishes with
tangled hair and untidy appearance, they hesitated and showed reluctance for
sitting along with those people. One day those peers and lords said to that
Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
that whenever they come to see him
, he
is sitting in those unclean and partially
naked tipsy people. When we come to hear your
words, we request you
to please leave them and give us
time at some separate place where such people may not interfere or at least
give us time after turning your
face away from these people. Since he was
Harees (that is, of full concern) about the religion and propagation, he was
about to say some option regarding this that Hazrat
Jibraaeel (Gabriel) Alaihis-Salaam
came there with these Verses:
Allah Almighty
says: Restrain yourself along with those who
cry unto their Lord at morning and evening, seeking his countenance, and let
not your eyes overlook them desiring the pomp of the life of the world; and
obey not him whose heart We have made neglectful of Our remembrance, who
followed his own greed and whose case has been abandoned (18:28)
