When
He notices nothing in his heart
besides His Awe and Jalaal, Allah
Almighty says
'O My slave! You are truthful and genuine in your words of Allahu Akbar (Allah
is the Greatest)
as you uttered through your tongue because there is no other thing in your heart
except the Magnificence and Jalaal
of Mine'. However, when the slave
inclines and thinks towards the Outsiders and things other than Allah
while
saying Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest), Allah
Almighty browbeats (and admonishes) him
on his said say and He orders him to shun away as he is totally untruthful and
hypocrite in his say of Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest). At this time, the
Devils return towards his heart
from all directions where they had fled and
attack again and gather there all again same as houseflies fall on an impure
thing. At that occasion, Devils eat his heart
tearing bit by bit and engulf
it'. Hence, there are different Maratib
and Degrees of offering Assalaat
(Prayers) and for Acceptance, Compliance and Approval of Assalaat, the
Intention, Absolute
sincerity (and single-mindedness) and Hazoori
of Heart
has
vital role because the outcome of every action depends upon one's intention.
Let
us tell you the condition of a Namaazi (the person, who offers Assalaat). A
person reported that 'I saw a Pathan of Kharasaan in bazaar. He had come to
purchase cloth. I saw there were currency notes of 1,000 denominations in his
purse. These people, usually, sleep in Masjids at night. I chased him like his
reflection. At night, he entered a Masjid. I also managed to stay near him with
intention to pick his pocket. The Pathan slept on the same flank where his
pocket and his purse were. It was quite difficult to thieve his purse in such
condition. I thought, for how long he would sleep in same style. It were long
nights of winter. Some other travelers were also sleeping in this Masjid. In
order to avoid the attacks of sleep and to ensure my credibility in the hearts
of people there, I started offering Nawafil
Assalaat
at a place very near that
Pathan and offered many Rakat
Assalaat
one after another so that when the
Pathan will change his side at night, I will start that for which I had been
there and will thieve the purse along with many thousands Rupees.
*
However,
as Allah
willed, that sturdy Pathan slept there on same side all along the
night and I offered many hundred Rakat
Nawafil
Assalaat
for his purse but
remained unsuccessful in picking his pocket'.
Now
if a person, who can see the outward only, observed that Namaazi (the person,
who offers Assalaat), he would surely have concluded that he was a big devout
and ascetic (worshipper), rather, the Bayazid Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe of his time who had spent all night
in worship. However, what value and worth would be of such Rakat
and Assalaat
near Allah
Almighty that have been offered just for the sake of a purse!
In
short, the beauty or ugliness and the rejection or acceptance of every action
depends upon the cordial Intention of the doer. It is famous about a Khawaja
shop keeper that whenever it happened that he had forgotten a buyer or the
amount due from that buyer, in order to remember him again, he used to offer
Two Rakat
Nawafil
Assalaat
(Prayers). Since, Satan, as a Waswasa, reminds a
person the forgotten things of the world, therefore, the forgotten buyer or the
amount came to his mind instantaneously. Hence, the Return of Assalaat
of this
kind will be Allah's violence and punishment in the Next World. Thus, the
lifeblood and spirit of every worship and action is the cordial intention and
intent of the worshipper and the doer and by virtue of this intention, his
action and worship becomes living and radiant and meets the Degree of
Acceptance in the Sanctuary (Court) of Allah
Almighty. If some action,
obedience and worship are done purely for the sake of Allah's gladness and
accreditation, then the worldly hopes and the degrees of Hereafter
automatically come to the share of the doer automatically. However, Faith
cannot be achieved when you do something with intention for a worldly intent.
Once
a person came in a Masjid for Eitikaaf. Income of that Masjid was good
and since, the previous Imaam
of that Masjid had died and this person was a
learned scholar, therefore, he started staying at that Masjid with this thought
that might be he is made Imaam
of that Masjid. Moreover, he started keeping
Fast in day and stood vigil the whole night in worship and Nawafil
with this
intention in his heart
that by this practice he will be able to win the
appreciation and admiration and confidence of the trustee (or custodian) of
that Masjid and the other person who came to offer Assalaat
there and in this
way they might chose him the next Imaam
for the Masjid.
