He used to visit the tomb of Hazrat Bayazid Bastami Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala AlaiheBook daily on foot from Kharqaan and used to get Inwardly Beneficence and the advantage from his spirituality. He was totally illitereate, unlettered and uneducated as regards to Outward Ilm. However, he was Inwardly fully litereate directly through the Ilm-e-Ludunni.

It is said that once a Wali-Allah Invisibly appeared before him and after hitting his foot on ground with pride, he said 'I am the (second) BayazidBook and JunaidBook of my time'Book. Hazrat Shaikh stood up and replied 'I am the (viceroy of) God and the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamBook of this age'Book. The account of the first meeting of Sultan Mahmood Ghazanvi with Hazrat Shaikh Abul Hasan Kharqani Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala AlaiheBook has been described in some books like this that when Sultan Mahmood Ghazanvi learnt about the high fame of Hazrat Shaikh Abul Hasan Kharqani Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala AlaiheBook for many Kashf and Karamaat, a desire arouse in his heart to see and meet the ShaikhBook and he many a times invited the Hazrat ShaikhBook to honor him with his visit to Ghazni. However, Hazrat ShaikhBook declined his request. At last, Sultan Mahmood Ghazanvi travelled to Kharqan and installed royal camp outside the city and sent a messenger to the court of Hazrat Shaikh Abul Hasan Kharqani Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala AlaiheBook and requested for his pleasure to grant permission the king of time to see the ShaikhBook as he has come from Ghazni to Kharqan in order to meet him. He further requested the ShaikhBook to let him be escorted to the royal camp if he favors so. When the Sultan had sent the messenger, he had advised him to recite the following verse in case Hazrat ShaikhBook declines his request to pay his honorable visit to the royal camp:

Obey Allah, and obey the messenger (of Allah) and those who are in authority (4:59)

Book

When the royal messenger reached the court of Hazrat ShaikhBook and he read the royal decree, Hazrat ShaikhBook declined to go to the royal camp and as the messenger had been ordered, he read the above verse and said that it is obligation on the himBook to obey and follow the orders of the king of the time, Hazrat Shaikh Abul Hasan Kharqani Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala AlaiheBook said:

*

Go and tell the king I have not yet been able to fully discharge and offer my duties for the Order of 'Obey Allah'Book and I am still engaged in this. Afterwards, I have to discharge many of the duties for the Order of 'Obey the MessengerBook'Book. God knows when will come the turn of 'those who are in authority'Book? When the messenger returned to the Sultan with this convincing and reasonable reply to his message, Sultan said 'now Hazrat Shaikh has made us answerless. We should now go to his place ourselves'. Hence, in order to test the Inwardly Kashf of the ShaikhBook, he used this tactic that he ordered his slave Ayaz to wear royal raiment and put royal crown on his head and he himself wore the ordinary dress of Ayaz to show himself a slave and ordered some maids to wear the dress of men and took them all with him and set out to the cottage of the Shaikh in incognito garbs. Thus, when this group of misguiding garbs reached the court of Hazrat Shaikh in the leadership of Ayaz, since HazratBook wa the knower and the Roshan-Zamir, he paid no attention to the royal appearance of the Ayaz but instead he addressed to Sultan, who was peeping through the arms of the soldiers standing away, 'ask these Na-Mehram ladies to leave our place'. This order was obeyed at once. After this, ShaikhBook continued 'what tricky piece of tactic you have applied!' Sultan humbly replied 'our trick failed and fell flat in front of the Phoenix like eyes of you, O HazratBook!' Then Sultan begged for some auspicious gift from Hazrat ShaikhBook at that moment. HazratBook gave him a piece of dry bread of barley. Sultan thankfully received that piece and presented some parcels full of gold coins and started eating the auspicious piece of dry bread of barley given by the HazratBook. By chance, that piece of dry bread could not be swallowed by Sultan and he started coughing. Seeing this, Hazrat Shaikh pointed out towards the bags of gold coins and said 'O Mahmood! Food of Messengers (of Allah) cannot pass through your esophagus then how would this nest egg which is tainted with the blood of many poor and is the heritage of Materialistic Pharaohs be swallowed by this Faqeer!'
