Greed
(and grasping) is, like net and Dunya (World) is
grain and the People of Greed is blind for it. The person, who is not
greedy, will never become its victim. Only that person will be caught up in its
trap, who is stupid, the People of Nafs
, unwise and unafraid.
Every that person, who likes Allah
Almighty and likes Faqar , he is free
of greed and Self-Sufficient. His neck always remains high (with
honor) because (lust and) greed is the name of sorrow and the Faqeer,
who is unified with Allah
Almighty, remains free of this grief. He,
who is poor, is the friend of Allah
Almighty. BAYT e BAHU
(Couplet of Bahu
Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe) That person, who is in the worry for the Dunya (World), He is a despicable breed fostered by the sordid Dunya
(World).
Dunya (World) is Fiend and the
People of Nafs seek for the wickedness of Fiend. HIKAYAT
[it is said
that] one day Hazrat
Imaam e Azam Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe was reckoning
his life and his Nafs in Muhaasba and was saying that O Nafs!
You have become 60 years of age with total twenty one thousand and sixty days.
[When he calculated this figure,] uttered an Ah and fell unconscious. When
regained consciousness, his followers asked him why he had become unconscious.
He said that "today I did the Muhaasba of the days of my age with my Nafs
that its age has become sixty years in world and it has been given deadline until
its adolescence. Then, when, I calculated the entire days, they are twenty one
thousand and sixty". I asked it that "O Nafs! You must have committed at
least twenty sins per day". The Nafs said 'Nay'. I said 'it must be ten sins
a day'.
