And
he, who's Nafs , is in restraint (and control), Satan
is away
from him. Say, if two thieves enter a house for burglary and one of them is
arrested and the other escapes, then he who has run away, will never come near
to him, who has been arrested. He will consider his loss in coming near him. [Similarly]
that person, whose thief Nafs is not in lockup, is near Satan
and
away of the Mercy of the Beneficent. They also have another example. Nafs
is like king and Satan
is [as if] Vizier of the Nafs. The time,
the king has been put to house arrested; the Vizier becomes
separate from him. [Hence] he, who's Nafs , is at large, is the fool [of
utmost level]. [Since
that person, who keeps his Nafs in control, becomes safe from the harm
of the Satan]. In this connection, here is an example. Same as if a hawk and a
sparrow are present inside same chamber and when the hawk has been leashed then
no harm and tension will come to sparrow from the hawk. The same is the example
of Nafs and Satan
when the Nafs has been chained. Allah Almighty says: and he went into his garden,
while in a state unjust to himself (18:35)
On
grounds of Shariyat, the Nafs-e-Ammara exists and Allah
Almighty says that the Nafs,
which is the enemy, should be killed. O Lord! Grant me those eyes by which I may
see my enemy and kill it! In the Tareeqat, second Nafs is the Nafs-e-Lawwama
.
[O Seeker!] You should give up the superb taste of the Nafs and
trample over the Nafs-e-Lawwama by
giving up its greed and lust. In Haqeeqat , your Nafs is the Nafs-e-Mulhimma
. It should be melted in the fire of Ishq Zikr of Allah up to
the extent that it should make itself demonstration of Die-before-death [that is, one
should kill the Nafs so that the real purpose is accomplished
upon getting the life of eternity]. In Marifat , the fourth Nafs
is the Nafs-e-Mutmainna . In
Haqeeqat , the Seeker of Lord uses to be "obedient with absolute
sincerity" and "extraordinary special Muwahhad
(Theist) and the Privy
(and Insider) of the Divine Mysteries of Muhammad
Sal
Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam"
and seeking the forgiveness of Allah
against that which distract from Allah, he
is the example of this:
