If
a barb and wire, well, ditch of sewage, high and low land and impurity,
whatever comes in his front, he cannot judge if something good is lying ahead
or bad. [Similar is the situation of Darkness of heart. When the heart
of the human being has become dark, he cannot identify if something is good or
bad]. That person, who manages to capture Nafs , he wins the gladness
(and accreditation) of Lord and the Muhabbat of Allah
Almighty. On the other
hand, that person, who does not capture his Nafs , [it is as if
he] pleases Nafs and Satan
and has fallen in their love. BAYT (COUPLET) Dog said to the Nafs, "Do not do Sagbaani, Do not follow Satan
and do not do Shaitani". Allah Almighty says: Did I not charge you, O
you sons of Adam, that you worship not the devil. Lo! he is your open foe
(36:60)
That
person, who has inclination unto his Nafs, his whole heart becomes black
(and dark) and neglectfulness arises in it. Moreover, when the heart
and Nafs become one, the Ruh becomes weak and helpless. On the
other hand, when the heart and Ruh become one, the Nafs becomes
weak, powerless, deprived and submissive. And this Faqeer Bahu
Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe says
this that one Hidayat of Allah
Almighty is better [and dominant over]
thousands of Nafs and Devils. That heart, on which is the Mercy
of Allah
Almighty, it is on the other side against the Nafs and Satan. [That
is, when Allah
Almighty throws His Gaze
of Mercy on
someone's heart, the Nafs and Satan
have no opportunity to gasp even if
both have syndicate and all this at His disposal]. Allah
Almighty
says: You exalt whom You will and You abase whom You will. In Your hand is the
good. Lo! You are able to do all things. (3:22)
Thus,
the Nafs and Satan
are God's Shareek (partners assigned to Allah
by polytheists). He, who is Outcast (and banished), the Nafs and
Satan
have clung with him and he has gone astray.
