? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? The Dervish told that he had
found two chapattis of barley last night out of which he ate one and kept the
other. The daughter of the king started weeping [upon this]. The Faqeer
said that "[Probably] you are weeping for this that you are a princess and have
come in the house of a poor Faqeer". King's daughter said that "I am not
weeping for this that I have come in the house of a Faqeer but I am
wailing for this that you are not Dervish. You have not trusted on Allah
observing Tawakul equal to a dog and spared one chapatti for the next
day. I am Haraam (Illicit) for you". She returned to her father and said
"he was not Dervish but was of the People of greed". Moreover, he,
who amasses possessions in greed and without Tawakul,
[and] does not spend on the Cause of Allah, theirs heart attends not unto Allah
they are the People of Iblees. That is why, Hazrat
Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe
Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam said that: Niggardly (and
parsimonious person) is the enemy of Allah
even if he is an ascetic
(worshipper).
Enemy of Allah
is accursed. On the Day
of Judgment, all the People-of-Dunya will be deniers and will say that
"O God! Had a
Faqeer or Dervish come to us, we had spent all possessions in
Your cause". [O Seeker!] Be informed that: when Allah
Almighty wills to give something
to a Dervish , He causes Ilqa (inspiration) in his heart
that he should go to such a such person that he is His treasurer in the
world. If that person gives something to that Faqeer Dervish
on asking,
it is as if he gives to Allah
and if he does not then Allah
gives. Moreover, it
is Allah, who gets the Faqeers given. If someone says this that such a
such person has given, he becomes Kaafir. May Allah
keep us in His
refuge against this! If someone says this that he gave
something to such a such person, even then he becomes Kaafir. We also
seek refuge in Allah
against this. [In Reality] it is Allah
Almighty, who grants and it is also He, who gets someone granted. A HIKAYAT Hazrat Bayazid [Bastami] Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe asked the reality
from a thief, who used to thieve the coffins (White Shrouds) from
the (caskets of the newly) buried bodies of Muslims in graves.
