Hafiz Sherazi Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe says:

My love did not attend school nor did he know how to write,

Even then he taught hundred teachers by the gesture of his eyes!

Another poet says:

The Holy Prophet was unlettered and taught all others the Mother of Scriptures (Holy Quran),

His highness was the first omniscient and knower of the Secret of 'what God inspires in him'!

In the world, when secret messages of extraordinary nature and the things of top secrecy and political intelligence are received by the big rulers, especially, the army officers from the government, through cable or wireless, we see that the appearance and way of expression of such information is of such a nature that no one other than the concerned officers can understand such codes. Even the personnel of communication department, operators of wire message and the wireless operators cannot understand these messages. Either these messages are in the shape of singular letters or just numerals which convey certain hints kept hidden. In short, the Haroof e Muqatta'at of the Holy Quran are also the introductory cryptic signals and the secret points which can only be understood by the Aqal-e-Kull of the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam or by those deputies of the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam which are informed by him about these. No other person can do this.

It is reported that when the Angel Hazrat Jibraaeel (Gabriel) Alaihis-Salaam brought down the Surah Al Baqarah and said 'Alif Lam Mim', the Holy Prophet Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallamsaid 'Ali-matt', that is, 'I understand'. Hazrat Jibraaeel (Gabriel) Alaihis-Salaam asked 'What do you understand, O Prophet of Allah Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam!'. he said that 'This is a secret between me and my Lord'.

In short, the Holy Quran is a Primordial Noori Uncreated Language of Allah Almighty. However, its Noor is hidden covered in many Hijaabaat for the heedless people.

Allah Almighty says: And when you recite the Quran We place between you, and those who believe not in the Hereafter a hidden barrier; And We place upon their hearts veils last they should understand it (17:45-46)

In the aforesaid verse, the barriers of Nafs , Qalb and Ruh have been mentioned which halt (and intervene) in between the heedless human being and the Holy Quran due to which no effect of the Holy Quran happens. You should have observed that a thin layer of plastic and silk acts as a barrier of electricity which stops movement of current from a copper cable connected with a powerhouse generating thousands of volts of electricity. So, the Invisible powerful electricity of the Uncreated Primordial Noori Language of the Holy Quran is hidden and unseen in the cables of words and letters but since the bodies and tongues of the heedless humans are covered and contaminated with resistances and nonconductors of different kinds of the unwanted things, these do not let the Noor of the Holy Quran enter the bodies as it has been said:

The Word of Allahis Pure (and Holy) thing which stays only on that place which is clean and uncontaminated.

It has also been said that many people read the Words of Allah but the Holy Quran diffuses not down to their throats. That is, the heart, which is next to throat, the Holy Quran does not enter it. Further, it is also reported to have heard that many people recite the Holy Quran but it condemns and curses them in return. Thus, there are many modes of the Holy Quran and the tongues and bulks reading it are different and due to this diversity, the degrees and Maratib of the Holy Quran become different each leading to a different effect. Hence, one is that Holy Quran the glory of which is evident from this verse:

If We had caused this Quran to descend upon a mountain, you (O Muhammad) verily has seen it humbled, rent asunder by the fear of Allah (59:21)

And that is also the Holy Quran which condemns and curses its reader instead. In short, the Words of Allah Almighty and the Anwaar of His Name and the Hijaabaat of heedlessness and ignorance against these has been mentioned in these two different verses. The first revealing verse is this:

Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as (if) a niche and within it a lamp, the lamp is in glass, the glass as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive, neither of the East nor of the West whose oil would almost glow forth though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knowledgeable of everything. (24:35)
