FOURTH CHAPTER ABOUT APPOSING NAFS , KILLING-NAFS AND
ALLAH
ALMIGHTY'S HELP FOR SUBJUGATING IT
Whatever
that is done for the gladness (and accreditation) of Allah
Almighty, [it goes] in the
animosity of Nafs and with the disobedience of Allah
Almighty, Nafs becomes happy and satisfied. What
thing the Nafs is? And what trait does it have? Nafs is
like a snake and it has ethos of Kuffaar . [Thus, in order to capture it,]
one should first learn magic and incantation and after this he should
try to grip on it so that it should come in control and can be domineered
upon. Thus, people asked the snake why it comes out of its burrow [in
response to incantation]. The snake replied that when a person says the
Name of Allah
Almighty on the mouth of my burrow I sacrifice my head for
it. The parable of Nafs is also like snake and the body of the human
being is the likeness of burrow, and the Zikr of the Name Allah is incantation.
Character of the Nafs is like Kuffaar, and the Nafs is Kaafir.
It does not become Muslim
except by Shariyat and Kalimah-e-Tayyeb: Laaa-Ilaaha Ill-Allahu
Muhammad-ur-Rasoolu-Allah/there is none worthy of worship except Allah;
Muhammad is the Prophet of Allah) (Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee
Wa-sallam).
Islam
is Haq (Truth) and Kufr is Baatil .
BAYT (COUPLET) If you prefer comfort (and peace) for you, behead
your Nafs , Similarly, if you desire Wisaal with Haq,
get separated from son and wife.
