HADIS-E-QUDSI

(Saying of Allah reported by the Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam)

I am nearer to My slave than his thought when he remembers Me. The time he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My heart. When he remembers Me openly, I also remember him rather more openly. He, who comes unto Me covering distance of two hands, I come unto him an arm's length. And he, who comes towards Me walking, I come towards him running.

HADIS-E-QUDSI

(Saying of Allah reported by the Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam)

When I see that My slave is remembering Me, I am pleased him and when I see that he does not remember Me, I am displeased with him.

Allah Almighty says: for those Faqeers who are restrained for the Cause of Allah (2:273)

It should remain clear that some Holy Companions Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala Anhum of Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam, for example, the Companions of Suffaa Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala Anhum used to not take victuals and they used to drink the mixture of crushed seeds of date fruit in water and they used to not wear (full) dress because of Masti. They used to keep themselves engrossed in the Remembrance of Lord in such a way that they were never late even for a moment. The Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam granted his blessed cloak to them.

Hence, you should turn wise and be aware that killing-Nafs implies this that your Nafs should never be let idle in any condition. It should remain preoccupied sometimes by Zikr Fikr, sometime by Assalaat (Prayers) and Fasting and sometimes in the Maratib of the Essence. In short, one should never let it free of Zikr. The Aashiqeen fall crazy for (such) heart.
