The
Noble Prophet Hazrat
Muhammad
Sal
Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
said that: Sawaal (Begging) is Haraam (Illicit).
Devilish
Begging and Sensual Begging are Haraam
(Illicit). Since
these are just for the sake of victuals and the pleasures of mortal world,
this Sawaal is Haraam
(Illicit). Sawaal
(begging for help) for the Halaal
(licit) activities is Halaal for example that Sawaal, which
is from Almighty Allah
or the Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat
Muhammad
Sal
Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
or
the Aulia-Allah Rahmatu-Allah Ta'ala Alaihim
and the Arif-Bi-Allah with the sole intention of Allah (Hisbatan-Lillah
). Had Sawaal been absolutely
Haraam (Illicit), Allah
Almighty should have never said that: Therefore
the beggar, drive not away (93:10)
Sawaal
by the Faqeer
the People-of-Allah
is also Halaal on the grounds
that he is all the time engrossed in the Zikr of Allah
Almighty and in the
recitation of the Holy Quran the Word of Allah
and for his asking this
Hadis
is witness: He,
who tells the way unto the good, is like its doer.
[O
Seeker!] You must be aware of the qualities, which should be in Faqeer.
He should be the one, who is always at Jihad , war and hostility with
the Nafs . He should be one, who is heedless unto the cries and
weeping of the Nafs. He should be Aashiq , Ghazi
(fighter against
infidels) and he, who is always pleased in God. He should be he, who does Muhaasba
of Nafs in capacity of Mufti (Religious Scholar who can
expound Muhammadan Law). He should be he, who believes in the pre-decided Qaza
and Qadr (Power) since the Day of Azal and should never discontinue Zikr
of Paas-e-Anfaas even for a breath. Begging is licit for him, who
has the Purity of Qalb. That person, who has no such conditions and
circumstances (Haal Ahwaal ), begging is Haraam (Illicit)
for this person and yet further, he is the illegitimate son the worshipper
of Nafs. BAYT e BAHU
(Couplet of Bahu
Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe) My Nafs makes me go at the doors of people in
order to make me disgraceful, I am the enemy of the Nafs and Nafs is
the enemy of mine. Begging
is admissible to that Seeker of Allah, who has acquired Ilm not
for the sake of Dunya (World) but only for Allah
Almighty. On the body of such Faqeer,
the Inward and Outward becomes bright.
