'Bahujat ul Asraar', which is
a valid and authentic book about his life and the outstanding traits, it has
been written that, when he was enquired about his earlier so many Mujahida
and Riyazat
, he said that 'I have been offering the Fajr Assalaat
(Prayers) with the
Ablution
(Wuzu ), which has been done for Esha Assalaat
(Prayers) for forty
years daily. For twelve years, such condition prevailed that when I had offered
Esha Assalaat, I used to stand on one foot and held a nail of the door of my
chamber and finished the Holy Quran daily before dawn'. Moreover, he said that 'in the beginning, I habituated my Nafs
for keeping the Roza e Wisaal
(Fasting
in Wisaal) for three consecutive days. Later, I enhanced the interval of Fast
and situation reached such that I used to spend forty consecutive days without
eating and drinking. A time came when I became needless of the necessities and
requirements of carnal and physical life like eating, drinking and sleeping
etcetera and at times, it happened so that the sleep and hunger attacked me in
a materialized and typical form and used to dispel these and defeated them by
chanting Allahu Akbar with a manly and fighter's might. Often, in the beginning,
the Jinnaat
and Devils came to confront with me, equipped with their weaponry
of making one astray, in armies one after the other, but I used to give them a
clear defeat by virtue of my God Gifted Inwardly
Power and Spiritual Ability
and stayed dominant and victorious'! * He
said that 'once the accursed Iblees himself appeared before me in his damned
appearance and said 'O Abdul Qadir! My Hosts
and I have become very much annoyed and frustrated because of you. You have
left us no place for to take a sigh of relief'. Further, his highness told that
'I have spent twelve years all alone in an old tower of the Palace of Nosherwan
outside the city of Baghdad. This Tower is known today as 'Burj e Najmi'
because of my long stay there'. He tells further that 'I have been travelling in
the Jungles and deserts of Iraq continuously for twenty five years and have been
undertaking multitudes of hard Mujahida
and Riyazat
there. Nothing other than
the wild grass and leaves and fruits was my food those days. Many a times, due
to hard Mujahida
and Riyazat
, I turned as thin as a stick and when the blood in
body had become dried up and my body had turned cold, I used to lie there as
dead. By chance, if some caravan happened to see me, they started preparations
for my burial considering me dead, I woke up that time, and they became amazed a
lot. In many townships, people used to call me dumb and madman!'
Instantly he came and took beautiful advantage that non-Arab, He
came on horseback and amassed bounties of Arab.
