Aashiqeen need nothing like devoutness, pietism and recluse,

Link should be with the Ishq of Wahdat which takes unto every Destination.

Faqeer Bahu Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe says that all Stations are devilish save the Station of Fanaa-Fi-Allah (Destruction is Allah) and the Almighty Glorious Haq.

It is said that one day Shaikh Junaid Baghdadi Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe and Shaikh Shibli Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe were going together to desert outside the city [that] the time of offering Assalaat (Prayers) approached. Both respectful persons did Ablution (Wuzu ) and decided to offer Assalaat that a woodcutter arrived there in the meantime. He unloaded the bundle of wood from his head, completed Ablution (Wuzu ) and came unto them. They both had identified him as Aulia-Allah. They asked him to lead them as Imaam (in the congregational prayer) but that Saint took too much time in Bowing and Prostrating Postures. When the Assalaat ended, they asked that Saint that why he had taken too much time in the phases of Bowing and Prostration. That Saint replied, "I hymned the praise of God [in every Bowing and Prostrating Posture] and as long as I had not heard 'Yes! I am here O My slave' in reply, I did not raise my head. That was the reason of longer periods of Bowing and Prostration!"

Thus, that Assalaat (Prayers) in which "Answer and response" is not received, that Assalaat is not Assalaat but instead it is the perplexity (and inner turbulence) of heart because Allah Almighty is the Hayyu-Qayyum , not "dead and idol". His worship is not like the worship of idols by Kuffaar without any "Answer and response" from idols because they are dead. On the other hand, Almighty God is the Hayyu-Qayyum and when someone "calls" Him, He "replies" him. That is why:

(Saying of the Holy Prophet of Allah Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam)

That is not Assalaat (Prayers), which is without Hazoori of Qalb.

Assalaat (Prayers) is the name of uniting with Allah Almighty [that is, real Assalaat is that which is offered with perfect concentration and full attention] otherwise it is perplexity (and inner turbulence) and separation.
