Shaikh
Jalaludin Tabraizi Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe
said
to people "If Qazi
Najamudin knows as how the Assalaat (Prayers) is
offered?" Qazi
Najamudin incidentally had heard this question and he, at once,
came before Shaikh and said to him "What was (really)
that which you said to people?" Shaikh replied "I have said because the Assalaat
(Prayers) of Ulema is other and the Assalaat of the Faqeers
is other. This is due to the fact that as long as the Ulema have not
seen the Qiblah (Ka'ba) straight in front of them, they do not offer Assalaat.
In case they fail to trace Qiblah, they are bound to do "Taharri"
and offer the Assalaat facing that direction unto which their heart
gives them witness that time. On the other hand, the Assalaat of Faqeer
is this that as long as he has not seen the Arsh straight ahead, he does
not offer Assalaat!
[In
short, after hearing this] Qazi
Najamudin returned to his house and slept. At
night, he saw in dream that Shaikh
Jalaludin Tabraizi Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe was
offering Assalaat (Prayers) on a prayer carpet that was laid on
the Arsh . Qazi
Najamudin woke up due to awe of the dream and came to
Shaikh
Jalaludin Tabraizi Rahmatu-Allahe Ta-aala Alaihe
and
said "Please forgive me. I am sorry and ask your forgiveness me as I am helpless!"
Shaikh
said "O Qazi
Najamudin! What you have seen me offering Assalaat
(Prayers) on the prayer carpet laid on the Arsh is, but, the
lowliest Station amongst the Stations of the Dervish which
are higher than this. If I reveal these Maratib on you, you would not be
able to sustain your condition and will die due to the intense Noor
of the Tajalli . Other than this first Station, Dervish gets
Seventy Thousand more Stations of the Dervishes. Five Times a day he
sees himself standing parallel to Arsh and offers Assalaat (Prayers)
along with the Celestial Beings of the Throne and when he returns from
there, he sees himself in the Khana-e-Kaba . When he returns from there,
he sees the entire universe among his ten fingers". Hence, O Dervish!
[Remember!] This situation is of that first Dervish, who covers this Station
and when Dervish has covered these Seventy Thousand Stations, his
Station is the Lamakaan and none else other than Allah
is
familiar with it".

ABOUT TAHARRI: In cases when one
cannot ascertain the direction towards Holy Ka'ba (Qiblah), especially in such
conditions when someone is in a jungle or desert and sky is covered with clouds
and one has no instrument that can guide direction, then he offers Namaaz
facing that direction that seems appropriate as per his heart's witness. This is
called "Taharri".
