The Spiritual melody
and (melodious) voice of this kind provides the Qurb of
Divine and the Arif Ayani seed the Spectacle of every Station through
it. By which Ilm , the action of the Sarood for Dajjaal, Sarood
for Wisaal , Sarood for Satan trait and the Sarood
for Divinely Waseela can be identified? They are identified with
their respective impact in the human body. That music-and-warble,
which is good, leads unto goodness and that music-and-warble, which is banished,
it leads the human being unto banishment. Good
music-and-warble
casts the sate of (spiritual) elation [and ecstasy] on the Arifeen .
It is the Spiritual food for the Loving Friends (Muhibbs)
and a Waseela of Didaar for the Aashiqeen and a cause of
the Fervor for the Waasileen . It is individual-obligation There are three Degrees of
Sarood. Sarood and song is that one in which, eulogy (Na'at)
of Hazrat
Muhammad Sarood, Music and Warble songs
etc: Hazrat
Sultan Bahu for some that they should
listen song and Sarood; it is (like) Sunnat for some and a Bidat for some.
Obligatory is for those, who are the Waasileen , Sunnat is for
those, who are the Seekers and Bidat is for those, who are
heedless. In which category do you consider yourself?
Sal
Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam
is read in (Melodious) voice. Second
is that in which the couplets of the Holy Companions Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala Anhum
are read in (Melodious) voice.
Third is that in which the Verses
of the Holy Quran and Beautiful (Holy)
Names of Allah
are recited by which, the Nafs
the Kaafir
Jew the killer
of the body should get killed. Hence, the worth listening melody and
song is of that person, that upon his signing with sweetness of voice,
the audience should fall lifeless like a dead body, who by taking
himself inside Hazoor, comes out of the Bulk of Nafs and enters
into the Bulk of Ruh and then again upon listening music and song, he
returns to Living state. Such person, upon listening to the (Melodious)
voice, finds Secret of the Fanaa-Fi-Allah (Destruction in
Allah
)
at once.
Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe
has
used word
Sarood for Samaa (Qawali). Samaa
includes both
voice and musical instruments. It is a lengthy and multifaceted discussion that
if Samaa
is Haraam
(not allowed) or is Mabaah (allowable with impunity) and
permissible. In his book Hujjatul Islam, Hazrat
Imam Ghazali Rahmatu-Allahe
Ta-aala Alaihe
has
given four kinds of Samaa: Haraam, Mabaah, Makrooh (disapproved but not
absolutely disallowed), and Mustahib
(recommended). Samaa
is Haraam
for
those persons, who are young and under dominance of the temptation of Dunya
(World) because it will yield no positive movement and instead the bad traits
in which their hearts are being influenced, will come in action. It is Makrooh
for those, who do not portray it as the appearance of the creatures but have
made it a habbit quite often as sport (Lahve) (6:32) and pastime (La'ebb)
(6:32). It is Mabaah for those, who seek nothing in it except melodious
tone and pleasure. It is Mustahib
is for those, who are under the dominance of
the Love (Muhabbat) of God Almighty and Samaa
induces only the laudable traits
