Muftahul Arifeen

(Word) Ilm (in above) means the Ilm of Tauheed and Marifat of Lord because some Companions Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala Anhum of Hazrat Muhammad Sal Allahu Alaihe Wa Aa-lehee Wa-sallam did not possess Ilm-of-Outward (Outwardly Ilm). They used to keep themselves occupied and Drowned in the Name-Allah-the-Essence (Ism-e-Allah-Zaat) alone. Therefore, (some among them) used to dissolve flour in water and drink lest they should turn neglectful against the Zikr of Lord! Martaba of the Holy Companions Radhi-ya-Allahu Ta-aala Anhum is higher than the Mujtahid Ulema of Outwardly and formal knowledge and the Martaba of the Tabey (Companions of the Holy Companion) Mujtahid Aalim is also not the higher than them because the Martaba of the Holy Companions Rizwaan Allahi Taala Alaihim Ajmaeen is the highest. Thus, it is concluded that Ilm sacred when practiced. The Aalim should be Aamil and not the Ulema-e-Aamil merely on the base of (acquired) Ilm.

(DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAQEER AND AALIM)

Who are called Aalim? And who is Faqeer? Ilm comes with the names of the Ulema and 'Ilm' means "to know". However the Name Allah is with the name of the Faqeer. Thus, the difference between Ilm and the Name Allah is of the same degree as is between knowing of the deference (Adab) and by command (Amar) of the Name-Allah-the-Essence (Ism-e-Allah-Zaat)!

Allah Almighty says: and Allah has full power and control over His Affairs" (12:21)

Order is superior to deference.

Satan observed deference of Ilm. That is, he did not lay his head in prostration before anyone else except Allah Almighty. However he did not obey Order of Allah and became disobedient and he reached the Martaba of the curse being deprived of Mercy of Lord. Allah Almighty says: and lo! My curse is on you till the Day of Judgment" (38:78)
