The evidence of this is that if (he) Gazes upon a Jaahil he will become Aalim and the Uloom of the Outward and Inward are revealed unto him; and if he Looks towards a dead [hearted] person his heart become living; and if he Looks towards the Aalim and Faazil (learned person) he takes all the Ilm back so much so that he cannot even recognize the Alif and Baa and his Zikr-e-Qalbi starts in a such a way that he cannot read Ilm and the Name Allah becomes inscribed on his heart and his heart currents like a river. (P32 Jamey ul Asraar). Fazal (of Fadhal) means grace favor and bounty or eruidition and scholarship. Fazal is the name of this thing that the Faiz (beneficence) of Lord should directly take birth in the body of man (P72 Jamey ul Asraar)
