Azkaar (Az-kaar) is plural of Zikr. The "Remembrance and commemoration" or the act of methodically remembering the Holy Names by Seeker of Allah usually through rhythmic manner as a spiritual exercise. Plural of Zikr is Azkaar. At few places Zikr may also mean reminder. At P31 Jamey ul Asraar Hazrat Sultan Bahu Rahmatullah Alaihe says that heart becomes Living through Zikr and the Nafs becomes Dead. The Key of Zikr is the Visualization of the Name-Allah-the-Essence (Ism-e-Allah-Zaat) (P14 Kaleed e Jannat). The Seeker of Allah who does Zikr is called Zaakir. Plural is Zaakireen.
