When,
in the beginning, the Seeker of Allah
Allah
[O True-Seeker !] Be informed that man with the Outwardly Riyazat in Chilla is a poster of fame and greatness, Karamat and Nobility, manners and ruckus and fame and name. This is the way in which the Nafs becomes happy and pleased and the Ruh becomes powerless and pitiful.
It should be known that the Nafs-e-Ammara is the thief of the inside and Satan is the thief of the outside. Both are the brigands of Eimaan (Faith). Their alliance is absurd. He, whose Nafs-e-Ammara is restrained then it is as if one has caught inner thief and locked it up and (thence) the outer thief (Satan) runs away of it and does not come near it and a parting between them occurs.
So, Nafs-e-Ammara cannot be discovered without effort, the Secret of heart and a lot of Zikr. And that, which is not found is not confined and the Nafs does not part from Satan and never becomes compliant and Muslim. You know that Satan the eternal enemy of man is with him like breath is with the life.
BAYT (COUPLET) Your enemy Iblees is along with you day and night, You should kill Iblees with the Sword of Adab (deference).
And Lo! If the Nafs-e-Ammara is the king in the body of the human being then Satan is its Vizier and the organs are its bondmen. That body, in which the king welcomes disorientation and disruption, it is same if the king Nafs and the sparrow Ruh are living in one house and if the Ruh is in the body of the king and heart is its Vizier and their subjects the organs are living in the house of peace of the creatures in the state of Jamiyat then the Nafs-e-Ammara remains worried same as if an eagle is accompanying the Ruh in the body and the sparrow of the Nafs cannot gasp in front of the awe and fear of the eagle.
